The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) applauds the public interest benefits presented by the T-Mobile-Sprint merger. The companies recently filed their Public Interest Statement with the FCC detailing the benefits the merger will bring to 5G development, economic growth and job creation, rural communities, and the competitive landscape.

“The USHCC is encouraged by the New T-Mobile’s pledge to invest nearly $40 billion to help modernize our infrastructure and create the first nationwide 5G network,” said USHCC Interim President & CEO Fernand Fernandez. “Internet access and broadband connectivity have become basic necessities for small and medium-sized businesses, and 5G technology will pave a new road to innovation and prosperity. This merger is promising for the Hispanic business community in both rural and urban areas, and the USHCC looks forward to the creation of the New T-Mobile.”

The USHCC actively promotes the economic growth, development, and interests of more than 4.37 million Hispanic-owned businesses, that combined, contribute over $700 billion to the American economy every year. It also advocates on behalf of 260 major American corporations and serves as the umbrella organization for more than 200 local chambers and business associations nationwide.
